Can Mosquitoes Transmit Coronavirus?

Mosquito can't spread Coronavirus

The whole world is now devastated by the outbreak of coronavirus. Doctors, scientists and researchers are deeply concerned and anxious. Different types of questions naturally revolve in the minds of panicked people. Can mosquitoes spread coronavirus? Simple answer No, it can't. Scientists do not yet have any information or evidence that mosquitoes can spread coronavirus (Mars-Cove, SARS-Cove or Epidemic N-Cove 2019). The concern is that if mosquitoes can spread many other types of viruses (such as dengue, chikungunya, Zika, West Nile, Japanese encephalitis, etc.), why can't they spread the coronavirus? Like the virus of various diseases, coronavirus can also be present in human blood. Since mosquitoes pass from one infected person to another through the absorption of blood, the coronavirus should also be spread in the same way.

In fact, not all viruses are transmitted by mosquitoes. Coronavirus is one of them. Although the virus is transmitted from person to person. However, it is spread through human phlegm, saliva, runny nose or touching anything infected. Coronavirus is in human blood but mosquitoes cannot spread it. Similarly, HIV, Ebola and other viruses are in human blood but mosquitoes cannot spread them.

Why Mosquitoes can't Transmit Coronavirus?

Mosquitoes eat the blood of humans or other animals for their own needs (egg production). Some viruses use this opportunity to transmit mosquitoes from one host to another. There is a mechanism by which mosquitoes spread the virus. It depends on the biological systems and interactions of both mosquitoes and viruses (fitness costs). By absorbing the blood of an infected person, the virus enters the mosquito's body and can survive. During this time the virus replicates in the body of the mosquito and later enters the salivary gland through the midgate (part of the stomach). Then (7-8 days) the mosquito acquires the ability to infect a new one. Dengue, Chikungunya, Zika etc. viruses are transmitted from one infected person to another after completing this process.

Notably, not all viruses can accomplish this process in mosquitoes. Such as HIV and Ebola virus. Examination has shown that these mosquitoes do not reproduce themselves in the body (do not replicate) but are destroyed in the midgate (part of the stomach) or excrement (exit from the body). And so these viruses are in human blood but are not spread by mosquitoes. In light of this, scientists say, coronavirus cannot be spread by mosquitoes. Moreover, Covid-19 is not a vector-borne disease. It is a highly contagious respiratory disease. However, it is not yet time to say anything about this corona virus called N-Cove 2019.
